Vote, so I did not vote

Yesterday was one of my those nights of over napping. I slept from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. with an intermission around midnight for a quick shower. I had the intermission only because Mom popped in and passed on the news that Conservatives had won.

I felt bad, a little bad. I wonder if my one vote and other similar votes could make a difference. Probably? The only comfort that could make to myself was that Liberal deserves punished somehow, that might be it.

Just to explain my total full intention to vote; so that my voter friends do not boycott on an over napped non-voter who got tired from a day of work.

While catching my rest, I was still in my unchanged work clothes with full make-up on. See, I was that prepared to go out again and vote.

A lesson to be learned this time is to go vote next time before hitting home. The most comfortable place is also the most dangerous place. For various thngs.

X-Piggies!

I was resisting eat-out last Friday. Anyway I failed. The lunch chat went on too long that temptation changed my initial no-go to go-go.

The lunch group was entertained by a few topics. Magic was one. Check out the magic by Cyril Takayma. I don't know much of him, but Cyril's magic is totally impressive!

It is original and highly visual. I find his close-up magic is way more entertaining than David Blaine or David Copperfield. He involves the audience much more than other magicians, which makes you floored. I should not believe it is real but his performance is really something.

Other than that, the lunch group was also entertained by my levitation which succeeded before but malfunctioned that day.

What else? Pigs. We talked about pigs. One table end was mumbling on glow-in-the-dark. I checked if they were talking about glow-in-the-dark bowling.

Nope. The group was actually enjoying a talk on three little pigs that were successfully bred in Taiwan and are thoroughly green in dark.

I couldn't really relate them to real pigs anymore. "X-Pigs?" was my first reaction. If genetically mutated humans are X-Men, then mutated pigs should reasonably be X-Pigs!

It is pretty freaky to see glow-in-dark pigs. When seeing these pigs in dark, you may think you have a special night vision. Scientists state that their hearts and internal organs are green. In daylight, their eyes, teeth and trotters are green. Most important of all, they were bred for stem cells research.

Ever consider putting an X-piggy in your room as night light? It may just work as well, but you may not like the "oink" :-)

Yawns and grammar

Watery eyes. No, I'm not sick. Those are sleepy watery eyes. Today is my second day back to office. I rely on Nerds to stay awake. I chug in a few. Eyes become one line. The watermelon flavored Nerds are sourer than they look.

Checking the time on my computer again, it's 3:30 pm only. I'm already too tired to go on. My sleep schedule is still same as vacation, 2:30 am every night biologically. I have to re-learn getting up at 7:45 am for work. 4 hours a day should be maximum for returned vacationers, like newly wed, newly engaged ... I wonder how it went.

As the day goes on and the tireness drags on, I stumble on some legal readings with double negatives in it. "You're not prohibited from distributing the software." I stop. "So can I distribute?" A pause. Oh yes, I can.

Writers who use double negatives often challenge my mind unnecessarily. I have to pause and think, feel dumb a bit too. Don't use that on me, but if you could speak double negatively it can be a good entertainment. You'll see people (me) all becoming slower in their response.

Have fun and try sparingly! In fact, using double negatives is grammatically bad. You would not want to have no grammar! ;-)

Sunday depression

Here I resume my blogging since vacation is officially over, tomorrow. It has been great two weeks off from work other than the one or two mishaps. Over the holidays I catch up a lot on sleep, and even put on a little holiday jiggleness.

I ponder on my new year resolutions, not sure to have them if I don't keep them, but I'll come up some. People should be goal oriented, I should be too.

It's Sunday. What am I doing? I am procrastinating on the holy thing, work. I'm waiting for the right moment to come. This morning I thought, I would start right after the power outage. Then later I thought I would start after the blog entry. I'm still lagging ... this is called Sunday depression, aka S.D., which can be moderated by identifying your S.D peers and discussing it through.

This is a bigger Sunday Depression than other ones especially when I exit from a vacation than a normal two-days weekend. A few friends share similar depression as mine. Bless you if you have one.

I remembered a conversation with my other S.D friends and jokingly expressed my Sunday depression. He said, "Don't be. In you life so far which year you've earned the most?" I said, "this year, but also the most depressing one." At the end, we all sighed, sighed about work and signed about life. We all felt a little better after letting it out and finding that none of us is alone. Sparks in your life can only be better if you have a little darks. So cheer up!

That's more for telling me. ;-)

2006 Big Movies

Flipping through the newspaper on entertainment today, here are the 2006 hit movies I look forward to seeing. Just realize that most of them are competing for my attention around the same time in May.

Mission: Impossible III (May 5 2006)
I only remember watching the first one. I'm not Cruise fanatic but action movies are always good. Alright ... there maybe a little Cruise factor in it, but not a lot!!

The Da Vinci Code (May 19 2006)
I never get to finish the book, still remained 2/3 incomplete on the reading. Well, I guess I'll just find out the rest from watching the movie ...

X-Men 3 (May 26 2006)
I always think the first X-Men is the better than the second one but which one being better does not matter, I'm still gonna watch the third one anyway.

Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction (March 31 2006)
Posting for Miss V 's interest as FYI. Your "Stone!" The first Basic Instinct was made in 1992. It has been 14 years for the 2nd one to be made. Stone should look a lot older now but to my surprise she looks unbelievably young in her BI 2 photo shoots. Click on the link and see for yourself. Botox, would you say?

Ice Age II: The Meltdown (March 31, 2006)
*Newly Added on Jan 9* Woohooo. I didn't know this coming out at all. Ice Age may not be a "big" movie like MI3, but its first one is absolutely hilarious! If you ran out of choices renting next time, give Ice Age a try. You gonna love it! I was initially not too appealed to it, but the funny speaking animals in the story can really make you laugh! These are words from a choosy cartoon watcher.

Having all these movies spread out in May maybe a good idea. I always think what best to do during changing seasons, like Fall and Spring, when it is not hot enough to go to a park nor cold enough to stay on a slope, what to do then? Catch a movie is nice. Stay home and keep your money is nice, but that also keeps fat too! Not that nice then ... ;)
